The Waterski Team has scheduled the annual Team Banquet to celebrate the 2011 season and our first ever D-I National Championship appearance.  All team members, alumni, sponsors, and friends of the team are invited to attend and celebrate with us.  Details:

A silent auction along with appetizers and drinks will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.  Dinner will follow at 6:00 and presentations of the 2011 season, Coaches Awards, and the Distinguished Service Award will all be presented at the banquet after dinner.  Meal and appetizers are included in the $30, drinks will be sold seperately by Hofbrauhaus servers. New Officers!

On Monday, November 28, new officers were elected for the 2011-2012 ski season. Thank you to all the outgoing officers for their time and effort this past season! The new officers are as follows:

DIVISION 1 NATIONALS!

On October 13-15, the UC Waterski Team competed in Division 1 Nationals for the first time in school history. The team took 8th place overall, competing against some of the top skiers in the nation. The competition was located at Bennett Ski School in Zachary, Louisiana. Congratulations to University of Louisiana-Monroe for taking first overall and also to the Unicorns of UC Davis for winning the coveted Spirit Award. With the conclusion of the 2011 season, UC will graduate 7 outstanding seniors. Thank-you so much to Jacklyn Woniger, Casey Thress, Kacy Clifton, Lauren Price, Kelsey Smith, Chris Van Treese and Steve Russo for all you have given to the program over the last 4 years.  The ski team is looking forward to building on their success for next year!

Midwest Regionals!

The UC Waterski Team competed at the Midwest Regional Collegiate Tournament this past weekend and secured their fourth consecutive bid to Collegiate Nationals! UC placed 3rd overall, behind Wisconsin La Crosse and Ohio State. A 3rd place finish is enough to send the team to Collegiate Division 1 Nationals for the first time in school history.  La Crosse, OSU, and UC will be joined at Nationals by Purdue and Wisconsin Madison, who will be competing in Division 2 action. Collegiate Nationals will be hosted at Bennett's Water Ski School in Zachary, LA on October 13-15.
