UC attends Winter Conference XII

Winter Conference has been a Midwest collegiate waterski tradition for 12 years.  Every January teams from around the midwest get together for a weekend of clinics, team building, awards, brainstorming, and last but not least partying.  UC has been attending winter conference for most of those 12 years and this year Casey Thress and Shawn McMullen made the trek up to Milwaukee for the annual event.

Casey and Shawn attended a number of meetings and clinics including the Captains meeting where a representative from each team voted on the new executive board and Team of the Year.  The first break out session that they attended was beginner slalom with Ryan Dodd and after that they moved onto intermediate trick and beginner jump taught by Cale Burdick.  The last session that they went to was Team Building / Fundraising with Cris Kodiak and Kurtis Threlkeld.  In this session they talked to other teams, just finding out how they raise money and get people to join their teams.  After the classroom sessions, everyone got cleaned up and met at a local bar.  The theme of the evening was "old school Nintendo characters".  Casey's final comments on the event were, "I was really happy I went to this.  It showed me that the Midwest ROCKS and we do have people running the show and I got to meet a TON of people!  If you ever question goingto a winter conference I suggest you GO!"
