2009 Houseboat Trip

Despite the rainy weather, a few minor injuries, and one broken down boat, the Ski Team's annual houseboat trip to Dale Hollow Lake in Southern Kentucky turned out to be a blast!  The rain let up just enough each day for everyone to get out on the water and do some skiing and wakeboarding.

Even when it was raining, everyone was able to make the best out of each day.  Whether it was the relay race or CVT trying to trick ski off of the slide, there was always something to keep everyone entertained.  Once it got dark out, the festivities moved from the houseboats to the fire pit just off shore so everyone could keep warm and get away from the bugs.  The weekend turned out to be very successful!

A big Thank You goes out to everyone who helped including Justin Ady and Greg Hudepohl for organizing the Team Boat, Matt Wolff for organizing the Alumni Boat, Hudy for towing his boat down and attempting to fix it when it broke down, Casey Thress for getting all the food, Gar and Matt for bringing their boat, and CVT for taking out a tree and not killing Russo and Cory while untying the boat.  Finally thank you to everyone for respecting the houseboats and ski boats.  It was a great time and we can't wait to do it again next year!

UC splits win with OSU

The University of Dayton hosted the first collegiate tournament of the spring this past Saturday (4/18/09).  Although the water was a little chilly, it turned out to be a great day for a tournament!  The three schools that competed were the University of Cincinnati, the University of Dayton, and Ohio State University.

It was an uncommon two round slalom & trick tournament, and despite lacking some of our best skiers, we were able to split the win with Ohio State.  Ohio State won the first round with UC coming in second place.  The University of Cincinnati won the second round with Ohio State taking second place.

Practice has Started

Despite 40 degree weather and off and on snow and rain practice has officially started!  Thanks to all those that came out last night and weathered the cold.  It was a great turn out.  We got a 09_wooster_first_practice.jpggood start on some projects for the lake and even a few brave souls hit the water.  Many new faces were out to check out the lake, and afterwards we had the biggest crowd in a very long time at Wooster.

Practice will be every Monday night for the rest of the season unless you hear other wise.  If you are a newbie and would like to check out the lake in better weather than come on down anytime.  Directions are posted under the team info tab above.  For your first time all you need is your USA Water Ski membership.  Just follow the link below.  This is shaping up to be the best season yet!
